Exactly 500 years ago today, on June 5, 1525, the siege of the fortress, which lasted several months, began as part of the Peasants' Revolt. During this time, Archbishop Matthäus Lang and his entourage were trapped in Hohensalzburg and the rebels took control of Salzburg. The special tour focuses on these events.
