St. George's ride to the fortress

The Georgi-Ritt takes place in honor of St. George. The riders of the Citizens' Guard with their decorated horses ride from Kapitelplatz to Fortress Hohensalzburg. A mass in honor of the patron saint is celebrated in St. George's Chapel, followed by a blessing of the horses in the castle courtyard. On the Kapitelplatz square, celebrations are held with a beer tent, stalls and brass band music.

• 09:45 a.m. Start of the patronal mass in St. George's Chapel
• from approx. 10:00 a.m. Ride up to Fortress Hohensalzburg
• 10:30 a.m. Blessing of the horses in the castle courtyard (followed by the ride to Kapitelplatz)
